Synetic Theater

Twin Night among Special 12th Night Events

Synetic Theater logoSynetic Theater's latest entry in its Silent Shakespeare series is William Shakespeare's comedy, Twelfth Night, opening Jan. 9. Director Paata Tsikurishvili is setting this production and giving it a silent movie motif. His wife, Irina—the couple are Synetic's cofounders—is choreographer and will also play Viola.

During the play's Jan. 9–Feb. 16 run at Synetic's Crystal City theater in Arlington, Va., the company is planning special event nights. The Jan. 15 performance will be Young Professionals Night; professionals 35 and under can book $25 tickets (with the code “Viola”). The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a preshow reception at nearby Jaleo restaurant, 2250 Crystal Dr., with light appetizers and happy hour.

Pride Night is set for Jan. 16, with $25 tickets (use the code “Pride”) and light appetizers and happy hour at Freddie's Beach Bar, 555 South 23rd St., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
For the 12th performance of Twelfth Night on Jan. 29, the company is celebrating Twin Night. Patrons are invited to come dressed in clothing mirroring a friend's (your “twin” for the night); each will get a free drink at concessions.

On Feb. 13 at 7 p.m., the Synetic lobby will be turned into the Illyria Speakeasy. Pick up your tickets and give the bouncer the password to enter. A guest mixologist will keep the signature cocktails flowing at an open bar. Costumes and '20s-style garb are highly encouraged.
