Now is your chance to buy some amazing items and priceless experiences while supporting the Theatre for a New Audience and its mission. In tandem with the Theatre's silent auction at its Annual Spring Gala, May 13, the company is holding its first-ever online auction, running through May 31.
Some of the items up for bid are VIP tickets to Broadway plays and other New York theaters, lessons at the Trapeze School New York, prime tickets to New York Yankees games, VIP U.S. Open Tennis experience, VIP museum experiences, luncheons with celebrated artists, jewelry, original artwork, handbags, clothing, beauty packages, exotic vacations, and participation in the Lady's Rock Camp (that's rock as in rocking out).
Proceeds support the Theatre's artistic season as well as its arts in education programs in public schools in underserved neighborhoods across New York City.
Theatre for a New Audience is an Off-Broadway not-for-profit theatre producer, founded in 1979 by Jeffrey Horowitz. The Theatre's mission is to develop and vitalize the performance and study of Shakespeare and classic drama. Through its text-based productions, the Theatre broadens cultural literacy and engages diverse audiences in masterworks that offer context and perspective to current events and contemporary life. Intrinsic to this mission are the Theatre's arts in education programs—the largest in-depth residencies to introduce classic drama and playwriting in the New York City Public Schools—and its expanding humanities and audience engagement programs.
