The Public Broadcasting TV station in Harrisonburg, Va., WVPT, earlier this year produced a half-hour documentary about the history of the American Shakespeare Center called Shakespeare's American Home. This documentary accompanied the station's airing of the sixth part of BBC's "Shakespeare Uncovered" series, which focused on The Tempest and featured that play's staging at ASC's Blackfriars Playhouse along with interviews with members of the cast.
Shakespeare's American Home is now available for distribution nationwide. The program is free for stations to broadcast and could be a great addition to local PBS arts and culture programming. You can contact your local PBS station to request it.
